Grrl Toyz dreamy vibrator

One of my favorite things about sex toys is the vast variety of hilarious things that can be incorporated into vibrators, Anal plugs, and dildos. Want to think of the tropics every time you play? Palm tree-shaped dildo! Obsessed with weights and measures? Try the vibrator with inch markings to see “how deep your love can go!” Fan of the psychedelic 60s? Tie-dye butt plug! But a lot of the real creativity happens in the realm of the rabbit-style vibrator. Because this style is so common, and most manufacturers have at least one style, people really have to get crazy with the shape of the little animal on the vibrator. “But what,” I hear the designers asking each other, “should we shape the clit stimulator like?” Rabbits are the original, the classic. But there are a wealth of animals whose shape lends itself to the same pleasure-inducing vibrations that a rabbit can—elephants, penguins, hummingbirds, beavers (har dee har har)—and, finally, dolphins. The Dreamy Dolphin, by Topco, combines the whimsy of the rabbit-style vibrator with the power of a serious toy.

Powered by 4 AA batteries (not included), the waterproof, phthalate-free Dreamy Dolphin has a whopping six modes of vibration and six modes of rotation in the shaft. The first three modes of vibration are simple, with different intensities of vibration, providing an impressive amount of power for something powered by batteries. But the next three change it up with pulses of varying speeds. My favorite was the “revving up” pulse—imagine starting a lawnmower and you’ll get the idea. As for the rotation, it’s a simple intensity switch. The steel beads at the base of the shaft provide additional, very welcome stimulation as well.

Additionally, the Dreamy Dolphin has a lot of features unrelated to its function that make it a great product. The battery-loading system makes it incredibly easy to change the batteries. It’s waterproof. It’s (relatively) quiet. And since most rabbit-style vibrators run a little more expensive than other styles, you can expect to pay a premium price for most of them. With the Dreamy Dolphin, you are really getting a great product for your investment. Most sites I investigated had them listed around $60-80, but I’ve tried more expensive products that weren’t as powerful and had fewer modes. The Dreamy Dolphin might be a chunk of change, especially in a recession, but come on—it’s an investment.

The only thing I would change about the Dreamy Dolphin is to include an on/off switch, instead of having to move back through all the modes to turn off the toy. But that aside…this might be my new favorite. That said, I’d love to see what other animal friends our designers can incorporate.
